The Hill: Santorum to campaign for Norton in Colorado
07/21/10
| By Shane D'Aprile Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) will campaign with Colorado Senate candidate and former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton (R) on Friday. Norton has two events scheduled with Santorum — one in Denver and another in Colorado Springs. In a statement, Norton said, “No one fought harder against the big government, liberal agenda over the last decade than Rick Santorum.” A release from the Norton campaign announcing the joint events billed Santorum as a “conservative icon.” In her Senate primary against prosecutor Ken Buck, both candidates have tried to stake out the more conservative ground. Buck has the support of many Tea Party groups across the state and is backed by Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.). The campaign stops featuring Santorum come just as the two candidates begin a series of debates. There are six Norton-Buck primary debates planned for just the next week. |
